The self-initiated plans at the University of Northern Iowa to merge their Philosophy/Religion until with History, coupled with their successful Mellon Foundation grant application to establish a Humanities Hub on their campus, suggest that lessons can be learned by others concerning how to strategize creatively with colleagues, both within and outside of your Department, about your future.
This is part of a monthly webinar series of AAR’s Academic Relations Committee (ARC); all of these meetings tackle topics of direct relevance to the success of a department (comprised of a 30-minute interview with the guest and then a 30-minute open Q&A for those attending the session). The webinars are recorded and eventually posted on the ARC page on the AAR site.
